Nokia N96 :: Is it a failure ??

Nokia N96

Nokia N96

Dear Nokia fans,

Before you upgrade your phone to Nokia N96 please read the reviews as well as the user opinions all around the world

first of all Noike N96 is not a big leap after Nokia N95 8 GB (it has all the corrections from Nokia N95)if you are very much emphasize on the size of the screen ,all in functions like GPS,5 Mega pxel cam etc. Nokia N95 8Gb is enough to you. Nokia N96 have the following key features that Nokia N95’s dont have.

1)Inbuilt TV receiver

2)16 GB Memory

apart from this you don’t see any major different hardware wise,It is always a good practice , read the comparison of the phones and reviews before your buy a particular model. I changed by phone from Nokia N80 to N95 8Gb this year March  and still I dont find much improved a phone to buy immediately as a tehcno fan, even though my day by day life mostly depend on mobile as I use it’s all functions.

N96 price is extremely high for the technology it offers as almost same like old N95. It is available from 700 Euro allaround the world now.I hope there will be a very big price drop sooner.

If you want to upgrade your phone to another model ,it is worth to wait for Nokia 5800 express music it has major hardware and software changes. Worth to wait for Nokia N series touch screen devices also like me.

please read and share your thoughts and experiences about nokia n 96 here (you also find lot of reviews)This forum is relaunched October 2008. Be fast to  be first here..

Following is a User comment  from one of the forums

” hm i find the n96 slightly uncreative, it looks like a stretched n81 to be honest. and they’re REALLY phasing out the pen key!
in comparison, n95 had its own unique identity, in terms of looks and technology”"

I agree with this comment. But the wonderful thing is at Nokia Forum Discussions, Some people are telling no problem with their N96 at all ,i hope they are not  moderators of that forum.

I seen this from Nokia Official Forum

“Ill add my fuel to the fire. Its pathetic. I had a N95 (original not 8gb) which sadly died so it wasn’t unreasonable to expect the 96 would be at least as quick and a logical replacement. Its SO SLOW. Texting is close to impossible, it can take 3 seconds for each letter to appear.

The option to change font size doesn’t work

Ring tone reverts to default because the phone takes so long to find the selected mp3

When its released it should be ready, at the very least much better than this.”

Oh pity about this user. But you may have different experiences also, why dot you share with us.

The Poll is on now ,please cast your votes here.

Thanks for your valuable votes that will help lot of users to take a decision .

I agree that this phone is a complete failure….i eagerly anticipated its release only to be extremely disappointed.
The slowness of this phone is a huge annoyance especially when you are wanting to get a message out fast. Also another of the major annoyances is that every week or so the phone loses its capability to ring and the factory settings need to be reset to fix the problem……
Overall this phone is a complete rip off and next time i will stick with Samsung as for the past 5 years i have never had a problem with any of my phones.

Dear Mel ,I dont find fault on all Nokia phones as I am also using Nokia phones for past 5 years, In some models you may have bugs ,it is quit natural when it is a high end all in all phone.

Please dont buy N96, I just bought one, very disappointed ! 950mah it is too bad autonomy 1hour max in wifi, in terms of quality of slide, not good at all!
the worth thing is , Nokia removed SIP client, basically you can config SIP and connected via 3G BUT you couldnt call internet phone as n95, I gonna sell my N96 asap . or please bring back sip client , you didnt inform us ,,about that

Where’s the integrated VoIP client?!!! My N95 8 GB had it but I’ve sold it to “upgrade” to N96! This is so disgusting I don’t know what to say.

Only fault i have with the phone is that i run in power saving mode all the time, which is fine but annoys the hell out of me when it goes back to normal battery mode after the charger is plugged back in. Other than that i find it brilliant!
