As every one waited ,the new turn in mobile technology brought by HTC. A 3.8″ all in one touch screen phone with WIMAX connectivity at 10 MBPS speed.
HTC MAX 4G is the first GSM/WiMAX phone to come to the market. WiMAX is a 4G network, for high-speed internet access. The MAX 4G is similar to the Touch HD in its specs, with 3.8″ WVGA display and 5-megapixel camera. It is announced for the Russian market only.

On Friday(14/11/08), the Finnish communications giant said it expects to ship 330 million handsets in the quarter. Consequently, Nokia’s shipments forecast for the whole of 2008 dropped from 1.26 billion units to 1.24 billion.
“As a result of the rapid change in global consumer spending, which has impacted the mobile-device market, Nokia now expects that the industry mobile-device volumes will be lower in the fourth quarter of 2008 than previously expected,” the company said in a statement. Nokia also suggested it was being affected by some of its trade customers finding it hard to get credit in the current climate. This is the view of Nokia. The way it looks at it.
I strongly believe not only the global economic crisis lead to this way . There is another factor to consider. As we have seen a rapid growth in the mobile technology for last 5 years ,and almost reached the peak of mobile technology now, there is no enough room for further growth.
TV,GPS,WIFI,Blou Tooh,IR,Wide Screen, Big screen,Touch Screen,Radio,MP3 players, VIDEO Cam,Digital Cams,qwerty Keyboards and more function Now intergreated with a single phone apart from it’s principle function as a communication device.
Most of this developments took place during last 3 to 5 years. Now it is a state of panic with a question “what is next ?”
If you see the recent developments of new mobiles from the famous mobile giants Nokia,Black Berry,Samsung, and Sony Ericsson , the technologies are almost same.
When you compare any phones with Nokia N95 8Gb ,you will see a small differences only in the mentioned functions . May be different in input as touch screen or qwerty key board.Or may have a higher MP camera.
But the name of the technology almost same . When you check the specs of this mobile devices you will get to know the facts (I have written enough about this device in my technology forums at www.pspezone.com/forum )

The buying power of the customers has been reduced all over the world specially of the higher power European markets. This has the immediate impact but the lacking of technology devices is a slow impact.
Few more developments I can see mobiles going to have
1)WIMAX instead of WIFI
2)Projectors inbuilt (already china manufacturer released a phone with it)
