Mobile phones are playing a wide role apart from what they  are suppose to do.

Mobiles made the communication possible ,from any where to anywhere in the world.

But last few years specially from 2006 ,the mobile devices got few more dimensions to offer more services and functions

Few more very new innovative concepts started in 2009 and still developing through out 2009.

1> use of Bar codes /3 D codes

2> Use of SMS payments

3>very new ,use phone as a credit card.

Benefits of 3D or Mobile Codes

Mobile 3 D codes are similar to the bar codes we use and happen to see in the products ,which indicates price and some other relavent information and make the billing proces simple to the business organizations.

The ordinary bar codes are 2 D it means, it can consist lessor information comparing to a mobile 3D bad code. Mobile bar codes can have a plenty of information . For example you can create a name card with all of your contact details in a mobile bar code .

When you point your mobile phone which has bar code reader ,it easily read the information written and translate to normal text.

Now a lot of books ,and products carries this 3D codes so you can easily encode using your mobile phone. Buying a bus ticket ,saving contact information faster, sharing information faster are possible (find in my dedicated article Mobile codes who and why ? )

SMS payment system are being very old ,as you can confirm via sms to debit your mobile bill to get a service from you mobile service provider or from a third party .

Mobile Credit  Card: it is new !

Now the new trend ,widely being tested in US and Uk after great success in Japan is Mobile credit cards.

So that you dont need to carry your credit card al the way ,just tap your mobile phone at the payment counter gadget ,it will take the money from your credit card which is programmed in your mopbile device.

In US  the test is ongoing in a small scale ,but there will be a lot of work to be done as merchants,credit card companies,payment gateways,en users like lot of parties involved in implementing this system.

once it is success in US ,it will be available in all other countries very faster.

Nokia Conversation : A useful application from nokia

SMS is the one of the easisest and affordable way of communication nowadays. Specially when we use pre paid mobile connection ,the calling rates are high ,so that SMS saves a lot of money.  And SMS is a way of confirmation for information given. Lot of bosses using it with their staff to make sure ,that they received their messages .No need to say about the friends and lovers how frequent they use Short Text Messages.

There was a need to see the sms in a organized way ,and Nokia released an ad on feature by software downloads for it’s certin mobile devices for last few years. the last version was Cnnversation 1.0 .

After a long time of  interval Nokia released a very imporved version 8.4 with lot of bug fixes and Clear UI. Once you installed this sfotware it will work as an intergrated part of your OS. You will get a new Tab next to contacts list (when you go to your phone book you can see next)

And you will see two types of views

1)Contacts View

2)Conversation View

The contact view is very rich and you can see the thumnail pictures of the contacts (If you ad one).

In the conversation view you can View all the sms organized under ever individual’s name. All the incoing and out going messages and drafts also will be listed. YOu can see totoally how many sms you sent to the perticular person. and What was your totoal questions and answers.

This applciation had some compatible issues with Nokia N95 and all the bugs corrected now. I have tested this release with my Nokia N95 8GB it workd fine. Please follw the link to more anouncment from nokia and donwload the software for your phone.  < Click Here >

Nokia N97 Another Leap for Nokia

Nokia released the proto type of Nokia N97 to the hands of bloggers and web site reviewers . Officially it launched a campaign in Nokia Europe web site. It started a dedicated N97 page also (no mush information ) I can see that after Nokia’s N95 ,this phone will be the best phone for ever (at least next 2 years..)Sony Xperia won the race as It released the similar phone before Nokia starts talking about it.

How to use Nokia Search faster and effectivly

Search is a feature of Latest N series devices ,added to N 95 via firmware update and released along with N95 8Gb,N96 and so on.. When you enable the active standby screen you can see the search option in your home screen .It helps you to search every thing in your mobile phone. You may want to search for an address saved as a text file in your mobile. Just got to search and key in the words you look for in the search box, immediately you will the the documents ,calendar entries,files,applications with the same key word and you can choose what document you are looking for from the updates screen.

Nokia N96 :: Is it a failure ??

Dear Nokia fans,

Before you upgrade your phone to Nokia N96 please read the reviews as well as the user opinions all around the world

first of all Noike N96 is not a big leap after Nokia N95 8 GB (it has all the corrections from Nokia N95)if you are very much emphasize on the size of the screen ,all in functions like GPS,5 Mega pxel cam etc. Nokia N95 8Gb is enough to you. Nokia N96 have the following key features that Nokia N95’s dont have.

1)Inbuilt TV receiver

2)16 GB Memory

apart from this you don’t see any major different hardware wise,It is always a good practice , read the comparison of the phones and reviews before your buy a particular model. I changed by phone from Nokia N80 to N95 8Gb this year March  and still I dont find much improved a phone to buy immediately as a tehcno fan, even though my day by day life mostly depend on mobile as I use it’s all functions.

N96 price is extremely high for the technology it offers as almost same like old N95. It is available from 700 Euro allaround the world now.I hope there will be a very big price drop sooner.

If you want to upgrade your phone to another model ,it is worth to wait for Nokia 5800 express music it has major hardware and software changes. Worth to wait for Nokia N series touch screen devices also like me.

I agree with this comment. But the wonderful thing is at Nokia Forum Discussions, Some people are telling no problem with their N96 at all ,i hope they are not  moderators of that forum.

“Ill add my fuel to the fire. Its pathetic. I had a N95 (original not 8gb) which sadly died so it wasn’t unreasonable to expect the 96 would be at least as quick and a logical replacement. Its SO SLOW. Texting is close to impossible, it can take 3 seconds for each letter to appear.

The option to change font size doesn’t work

Ring tone reverts to default because the phone takes so long to find the selected mp3

When its released it should be ready, at the very least much better than this.”

New Features on Nokia PC Suite 7.1 (17th Spetember 2008 Release)

A update version with few bugs fixed released 25ht of October 08 ,Version number is 7.1.12.0,The mentioned functions with improved actions. Still under beta testing.

Hi Nokia Fans, The beta of PC Suit 7.1 is released today .it is very hot. await for the application for public use soon.

With Nokia PC Suite 7.1, you can:
- Manage your device calendar in the Calendar view of Nokia Communication Center
- Create and delete contact groups on your device, and add and remove group members
- Get a notification on your PC about a low device battery level
- Start calls and pick up incoming calls with Nokia Communication Centre
- Save device battery by setting off call, SMS and battery level notifications”(works with S60 FP2 Eg N79)

Most of this are the features of inbuilt Nokia Communication centre, just go through my article

Nokia Comunication Centre Beta Release

Nokia communication centre has been updated this month ( 7th 0ctober 2008) VIa beta Labs . If you have the latest PC suite 7 which has the nokia communication centre inbuilt, but the latest release stand alone communication centre (beta) is much pretty as you can edit your calender entries in the pretty big computer screen. the earlier version doesn’t has calender feature, you can edit contacts and do all the sms communication ,but this one has sms,contacts and calender handling. it is much impressive part of nokia communication centre 2.

It loads the sms and your contacts plus the calender entry of the connected phone Via USB cable very fast ,comparing to the previous technology of the PC suite. (I cannot use blue tooth with Pc Suite 7.0.8.2 and my Nokia N95 8gb ,the connection is extremely slow and cannot perform most of the tasks )

Officially they mentioned this additions to this new release

  • Calendar editor
  • Contact group support
  • Contact thumbnail view
  • Performance improvements
  • Lots of bug fixes

I am happy with the calender editor as I mentioned above but the interface colour it not giving a good feeling ,may they update the interface colour  in the future editions as it will be the easy way to identify the attributes of the entry by colours.

With this message editor sending message is more easire, all windows has search box ,so you can search messages ,contacts and calender entries very simply ,it is quiet faster way, here you are not moving your data to pc and do it,it all done in real time directly on the phone.

Calender is Now much big and easy to work with, remember when you work on your pc ,directly you are working with your phone. Thanks to CC.
