Nokia Comunication Centre Beta Release

Nokia communication centre has been updated this month ( 7th 0ctober 2008) VIa beta Labs . If you have the latest PC suite 7 which has the nokia communication centre inbuilt, but the latest release stand alone communication centre (beta) is much pretty as you can edit your calender entries in the pretty big computer screen. the earlier version doesn’t has calender feature, you can edit contacts and do all the sms communication ,but this one has sms, contacts and calender handling. it is much impressive part of nokia communication centre 2.

It loads the sms and your contacts plus the calender entry of the connected phone Via USB cable very fast ,comparing to the previous technology of the PC suite. (I cannot use blue tooth with Pc Suite 7.0.8.2 and my Nokia N95 8gb ,the connection is extremely slow and cannot perform most of the tasks )

You can download the beta release from Nokia’s Beta lab Web Site

Officially they mentioned this additions to this new release

  • Calendar editor
  • Contact group support
  • Contact thumbnail view
  • Performance improvements
  • Lots of bug fixes

I am happy with the calender editor as I mentioned above but the interface colour it not giving a good feeling ,may they update the interface colour  in the future editions as it will be the easy way to identify the attributes of the entry by colours.

With this message editor sending message is more easire, all windows has search box ,so you can search messages ,contacts and calender entries very simply ,it is quiet faster way, here you are not moving your data to pc and do it,it all done in real time directly on the phone.

Calender is Now much big and easy to work with, remember when you work on your pc ,directly you are working with your phone. Thanks to CC.

Nokia Phots 1.5 and OVI Suite VS Life Blog and PC Suite

Nokia N95 8GB and Similar Symbian phone users

N 95 8 GB

N 95 8 GB

I am using Life blog for last two years and came thorough so many stages and some user experiences.. last year I was using N 80 I then Now I am using my new Nokia N95 8 GB.

I hold this mobile for last 5 months and going through each and every step of software upgrades and using the most of the support PC applications.

Nokia introduced the OVI suite that i hoped to replace the PC suite ,but after I installed the OVI I went through hard time as it is very slow and the interface not much friendly like lifeblog.

Life blog, OVI ,Then now Nokia Photos 1.5 the continuous similar software releases by nokia makes some confuses.

Life Blog 2.5

So far after using above three sync software I Found that for the media Synchronization  , Life blog is the best for the moment. It is fast and very simple.

Avoid Complication

OVIprovides Sync locally with your computer’s OVI Suite and OVI web *(Calenders, contacts, notes) When you try all this you will have life blog ,pc suite and ovi sync setting profiles in your phone. It may cause you some conflict or data loses if you are not sure about every program.

My personal suggestion is better to use only one program life blog for the media files and sms sync, Nokia PC suite is for calender, contacts, notes sync.

As OVI Suite also provides the similar functions of PC suite plus Life blog(Combined ) I think you should have a very good PC or Lap top with min 1 GB Ram and Good High speed Pentium Processor (Mine is 2.4 GHZPentium IV and 512 MB RAM )to have a best result with OVI Suite.

Below the image showing NokiaPhotos 1.5 Map view ,where you can see your location tagged photos in the correct place. you can tag you images with the location information using nokia location tagger (fro nokia beta labs)then transfer to the Pcthen see on the map. you can see on the map within the phone also. It is damn slow as it is developed in .Net , You should have minimum 1 GB of Ram to have a smooth run. In my Sony Vaio PIV Laptop, The nokia photos closed automatically many times. Nokia N series PC Suite also the slowest as it developed in .Net. Time to upgrade PC hardware to enjoy the mobile enhancements !

(I am playing with Nokiaphotos for days and I started to feel better , wait for my user experience with nokia Photos 1.5 Soon.)

Edited on 30th October 2008

As I said in my first post here,I went through nokia photos 1.5 and find something new and something not .

Nokia Photos can display your photos with your location information and a good map view for it. But at all It sucks ,when there is a very user friendly and high functionality lifeblog is existing ,I hope they would have released an updated version of lifeblog with location maping facility. I hope the main reason behind this is ,the life blog might be a third party software ,in order to dominate the market nokia plans to provide it’s own software. (may be tru or not)

OVI suite also have few bugs that I dont report here

My vote finally for everlasting Life blog .

Can you share your thoughts here or at our forum www.pspezone.com(Nokia and symbian section)

Please vote here.
